The Game of Thrones is on its way to Split!  Movers have been bringing in ancient doors and other scenic props to create the perfect ambiance for the hit series. Using one of the signature buildings in the very heart of Diocletian’s Palace,, the Papalic Palace, which was the “salon” of Split’s intelligentsia during the 15thC and is now the Split City Museum, the designers are fitting in wooden doors and windows all along the facade of George of Dalmatia’s famous building.

The crew is even putting up wooden battens to cover up more modern drainpipes.  As the doors were carted in tourists began asking some questions and when the security guards said “Game of Thrones” it was a buzz that could be heard all the way to the Riva.

So while everyone around the Palace was into the moment, I have to admit, I am one of only three people on the entire planet that have never seen an episode.

  1. You can make me #4. I am only now wanting to watch an episode just to see what all of the fuss is about & to spot places in Croatia… lame right?

  2. And I am number 5 or maybe even number one…yup, let’s make that number one! The sets look great, so maybe I’ll give ithe show a look-see, but I would rather be in Split in person, donchano!
