Homage to Tin Ujevic Opening

T

The loggia of the Small Papalic Palace on Thursday was the setting for an opening of Hommage Tinu, a celebration of Croatia’s most influential modern poet Tin Ujevic (July 5, 1891 – November 12, 1955) sponsored by the town of Vgorac where he was born and the Croatian Ministry of Culture and organized in Split by the irrepressible graphic artist Pavo Majic and Kornelija Bajalo.

A dozen different Croatian artists contributed artwork for the event which was used to illustrate some of Ujevic’s most evocative poems.

It was a festive week here in Split….the opening a Dali exhibit at Old City Hall, the Ujevic opening and a Mandolin Concert at the HNK theatre!
