Split’s baseball team off to Brussels for int’l competition

After a great season finishing first in both league and inter-league play (just three losses), Split’s baseball team is off to Brussels today to compete against teams from Europe in a 10-day international competition.  The first game is on Monday and depending how the team does, the finals will be played a week later.

The team’s last two games were blowouts, with team coach and star pitcher Ernesto blasting a pair of home runs against Zagreb and the rest of the team chipping in for 14 hits to rack up a total of 16 runs.  With everyone healthy and defense and base-running a lot better this year, hopes are high that the team will do well.

Hopefully they won’t find that bar in Brussels that is world famous for having 2,000 different beers to choose from (it’s a big place, TWO full floors!)

I’ll keep you posted!
