Council Bluffs corn in Croatia!

When Natasha went to the US last October she traveled to Council Bluffs, Iowa, the heart of corn country.  And one of the welcoming gifts she got was a 2 kilo bag of the region’s best corn seeds.  Well, if we had 10 acres or more this would be great, but our vest pocket garden plot above our terrace can take about 25 seeds.  So, in addition to our vast strawberry plantation (Natasha likes smoothies and strawberries here are easy to grow and copious), some zucchini, tomatoes, a couple of peanut plants (not sure where they came from), we decided to plant some of Council Bluffs best.

Not quite as high as an elephant's eye, but definitely getting there!

In addition to the veggies, we also have some flowers…and the winner this year is an amazing volume of petunias which somehow survived from last year and grew like crazy this Spring….a beautiful sight when we open the door to the terrace!

Spilling from the garden patch down the wall, these beauties just keep on growing!
