The Split Alps covered in snow!

Let's go skiing!

After several days of rain and 30-40F temperatures, the sun broke out today and it was glorious.  Walking to the Riva however, the sight of seeing all that snow covering the top of the 800′ mountains that snake their way down to coast to Makarska and beyond was weird.

A lot of Croatians go skiing and the country is becoming an in spot for Europeans looking for a new experience without all the glitz and glamour.

I only wish we had some of the white stuff at ground level so I could chuck a few at Natasha to remind her of what she left behind in Nizhny Novgorod–which today was covered with the stuff and chilling out quite nicely at a smart -22C.

  1. What a beautiful picture. You captured the essence of Split. I agree with you, a few snow ball fights would have been fun!
